By registering your approved and vehicle-specific, anti-theft device, you will be alerting Canadian Private Insurers that your vehicle (uniquely identified by its VIN (serial number)) is protected with enhanced after-market, theft-prevention measures. Depending on the year, make and model of your vehicle, its current susceptibility to theft, the location it is driven and stored in, and the effectiveness of your anti-theft device, you may be eligible for premium discounts or other incentives from your insurance company, from time to time. Note, any considerations are not guaranteed, are at the discretion of each insurer, and the treatment may differ between insurers.

This registration and enhanced anti-theft protection indicator stays with your vehicle even if you change insurance companies or move. When you sell the vehicle, you can deregister or transfer the protection indicator to the new buyer, who can potentially benefit from the same opportunity for insurance incentives.
